Cure Natural Aqua Peeling Gel

image

I got a few samples of this in the mail yesterday and I was soooooo excited to try it. I watched some YouTube gurus rave about this product and got sucked into buying it. I didn’t buy the full sized  product as it is extremely pricey… but after trying it, I intend to get a full size bottle soon.

It is a product of Japan. If you can read the description above, 1 bottle is sold every 20 seconds. I bought it online and the link to the website is down below. It is about $34-56 a bottle depending on where you buy it.

The instructions say to place a small amount of gel unto your fingertips and gently rub it in. You will immediately see the effects. I noticed a white flakey substance form of the surface of my face – that is supposed to be the layer of dead skin cells coming off. After a few minutes of rubbing it into my entire face, I rinsed it off with warm water. I patted my face dry and I was amazed on how soft and smooth my skin felt. It felt so very refreshing. It is the BEST exfoliator I have ever tried.

There was no irritation nor redness. It was extremely gentle.

After using this, I went ahead and continued on with my night skin care regimen, which is mainly my Acne.org treatment of Benzyl Peroxide, AHA and moisturizer – which by the way, has almost totally rid me of acne breakouts. My breakouts has left me with multiple hyperpigmentation and scarring. I am hoping this product will speed up the process of this spots disappearing.

See the white flakes? That’s my layer of “dead skin cells”

Make money buying eyeliner!

I should have posted this sooner, but if you can still get to your local CVS and get the specially marked Physician’s Formula 2-in-1 Eye Booster, DO IT! You get $7 back in ECB and there is a “TRY ME FREE” rebate for the total amount you bought the product – max of $10.95. (It’s $10.99 at my local CVS)

I’ve tried the product, and it’s a really good liquid eyeliner. I’d have to wait a few weeks to see if it really helps me grow thicker lashes…

I think this ECB offer ends Saturday, and the rebate ends Dec 31st…

My Favorite Primer

ULTA

My search is over – for now. I think The Present by Philosophy is the best primer of all the ones I’ve tried. Believe me, I have tried a lot. It took me some time to work with it to decide it was the best. At first, I thought I wasted my money. The first time I tried it, it made the foundation hard to blend. I noted some areas of caking. I tried blending with my fingers, with a brush (Sigma’s F80) and with the Beauty Blender. I even notice the beauty blender coming apart when I tried to blend in my foundation. But that was with a dry Beauty Blender. I then finally tried a damp Beauty Blender and it worked! I usually use Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin foundation with this primer.

My foundation stays on all night (as I work 12-hour shifts during the night), and also stays matte. My face didn’t break out at all with this product. I think I’m in love with this product!!!!

I got mine from Ulta for $25. Yeah, it’s costly but a small amount goes a long way!!! Well worth it!

September Faves

Yup, just like a typical Filipino, I’m late again. But It’s better late than never, as they always say. I picked a few things this month that I would like to share as stuff I have been loving this last September.

The first one is the lip scrub by Lush in “Sweet Lips”. My lips are always peeling making it a pain to wear lipstick as it makes the dry, peeling skin on my lips so obvious. I’ve been on a hunt for something to keep my lips smooth and lip balm wasn’t enough. Then I took my first trip to Lush to get me some of that famous Sex Bomb bath bomb and saw a bowl of these and other flavors at the register. I love this! After rubbing a pinch of this on my lips, I usually lick it off. (Mmmmmm) But to get all the sugar off, I follow up by rinsing it off with water.

Of course after exfoliating my lips, I moisturize. I heard about the E.O.S. lip balm from one of my favorite YouTube gurus, emilynoel83. She said she got a set of these at Walgreen’s. Like the shopping addict that I am, I went there first thing. I got the set that she talked about. Then recently I’ve seen them in Walmart. I LOVE the shape they are in! Those little balls are soooooo cute! They work well, too! EOS stands for Evolution of Smooth.

My favorite heat protectant spray right now is this one from TRESemme. I’m not sure if it really works. I need more time to use it and determine if it’s really preventing heat damage to my hair. I just have seen it a lot on YouTube and tried it. It smells nice and it’s CHEAP. I have tried the high-end brands like Joico, CHI and Paul Mitchell. So far, none have really prevented my hair from frying. This one costs less that $4 at Walmart AND I’ve been using lots of coupons and actually have gotten several of these as a BOGO!!!!

I have been using the same perfume for years… Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren. I love it coz when I smell it on me, I think “water”. BUT I’ve discovered a new scent and convinced my loving husband to buy me a bottle. It’s Chance by Channel – the green one. He bought me a small bottle (I wish he got me a BIG bottle, but it costs $95!). The smell is fresh… reminds me of a garden.

Stila $5 Foundation Sale!

Don’t know how good these are but at $5, I am tempted to try…

MUFE Eyebrow Corrector

image

My obsession in makeup started when I searched on YouTube tutorials on eyebrow shaping. Previous to this, I was having my brows threaded and filling them in with MAC eye shadow in espresso. But during the course a 12-hr shift, my eyebrows would slowly disappear, especially when I get greasy. I notice there are eyebrows out there that have really good staying power. I wanted eyebrows like that… and so my search began.

During my search, I came across a YouTube guru named “eyezonumakeup”. I swear, this girl has the most perfect eyebrows! In one of her tutorials, she demonstrates the Make Up For Ever Eyebrow Corrector. I went out to Sephora and got me a tube. It is my absolute favorite make up. The staying factor is fantastic! It lasts me all day (or all night when I’m working). I’m pretty sure one tube will last you a long time as I only need a small drop of the liquid for each use. One just has to be careful when applying this as too much may look way too harsh. So, for $19 a tube, it’s a decent deal.

It comes in four shades. I use No. 3.

August Favorites

(I am in the process of moving my wordpress blogs to blogger. I’m testing out Live Writer to do this as I hate using the dashboards to create posts. This is my August Faves post that was written back in mid-September. I hope this works!)

In the tradition of beauty bloggers, I have created my monthly favorites. I’m late since it’s mid-September, but I will try to get better at this blogging thing.

O.P.I. Nail Lacquer in Chocolate Moose

No, I did not misspell it. That’s the real name. It’s a very nude, natural color. And O.P.I. polishes lasts a long time.

The Regimen – Acne.org

Created by Dr. Dan Kern. It’s simply a three step program to skin care. You should check out the site. So far, so good. It’s been a few weeks and my acne is clearing up. The only thing is once you’re on Benzoyl Peroxide, you basically have to stay on it to keep the pimples at bay. But I’ve had acne since I was 11, so I don’t mind.

Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer with spf 20 – oil free

I’m in the shade Almond. Love the coverage, it’s almost like a foundation with moisturizer built in. It’s pricey though at $42 a tube. You can get it at Sephora.

I’ll keep it down to three items right now, and save some for September’s favorites.
